Configure your project

Project commands let you install dependencies, start a development server and run checks without leaving your workspace.

Review every command before running it, especially when opening a repository from someone else. Repository scripts can execute code with your user permissions. Copperbar does not automatically run setup or archive scripts when a workspace is created or removed.

Keep parallel servers separate

Each workspace is assigned a port range. Configure your development server to use the workspace’s assigned port rather than the same hard-coded port in every worktree. A reservation coordinates Copperbar workspaces; another application on your machine can still occupy the port.

Bring local configuration

Use the project’s file-copy configuration for environment files needed in a new worktree. Keep credentials out of version control. Review copied files and avoid copying unrelated secrets into agent-accessible directories.

Next: run parallel agents.
